IPL Photofacial is a procedure in which intense pulses of light are used to penetrate deep into the skin.
Clients will see improvement after one IPL Photofacial treatment, but for maximum results we recommend five treatments repeated in a 3-4 week interval. After the initial treatment series, we recommend clients have a maintenance IPL Photofacial once a year. The most common treatment areas for the IPL Photofacial are the face, neck, chest and hands.
The IPL Photofacial “photo rejuvenation” therapy helps to:
Even out skin tone
Reduce brown spots
Reduce the signs of Rosacea
Increase collagen production, thus minimizing fine lines and wrinkles
Reduce pore size
Smooth and soften skin
Improve sun damage
Reduce unwanted hair
Most clients do not experience much discomfort during the IPL Photofacial treatment. The intense pulse light feels a little like being snapped with a rubberband. There is typically not any down time after having an IPL Photofacial treatment. The skin will looked flushed and red for several hours in most cases, but can last for up to a week. The brown age spots and uneven pigmentation will darken over the next 3-5 days. The pigment will slough off at about a week to ten days post treatment. Your LMS esthetician will perform a complimentary microdermabrasion treatment at that time to help complete the sloughing off process.
